About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide clinical education for J&J Innovative Medicine Oncology brands, primarily focused on PI-based and disease-state education
- Educate non-physician patient care teams, including nurses, nurse navigators, pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants
- Support patient experiences addressing clinical and behavioral treatment and disease-management education needs
- Serve as a trusted educational resource for patient care teams and patients
- Support patient care teams through education and approved resources in a defined geographic territory
- Serve as strategic education leader across academic and community oncology accounts
- Analyze account dynamics and customer clinical challenges to develop strategic educational plans
- Determine engagement approaches, monitor market educational needs and clinical trends, and collaborate compliantly with internal and external partners
- Educate patients through requests from advocacy groups
- Build external relationships with patient care teams and manage a geographical territory
- Develop and maintain strategic territory plans
- Educate patient care teams on disease-state awareness, patient identification, product clinical profiles, clinical benefits, and administration requirements
- Deliver education through one-to-one presentations, roundtable discussions, and formal presentations
- Teach infusion nurses and medical staff about infusion processes for new cancer medications
- Translate and communicate clinical education topics to diverse audiences
- Document and share clinical insights from customer engagements and meetings
- Use clinical insights to shape local education strategy and strategic account educational plans
- Attend and provide clinical information or presentations at national, regional, and local meetings
- Support exhibit booths and displays as required
- Participate in journal clubs, book clubs, and team clinical discussions
- Develop, implement, and document performance and development plans with the supervisor
- Participate in management-assigned projects
- Complete administrative requirements, including expense reports and activity documentation
- Support sales training initiatives and improve field personnel clinical competencies in partnership with Sales Learning and Development
- Collaborate across sales, marketing, Health Policy & Advocacy, Medical Science Liaisons, Janssen Care Path, and other functions
- Maintain knowledge of the OCE mission, rules of engagement, scientific data, market dynamics, competitive landscape, compliance guidelines, corporate policies, SOPs, and relevant guidelines
- Stay current in clinical developments related to assigned disease states
- Maintain advanced presentation skills and document interactions, clinical insights, and customer profile information daily
- Attend clinically relevant meetings for professional development
- Conduct all activities in accordance with OCE Rules of Engagement and healthcare compliance guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- Active RN license or Advanced Practice degree (Nurse Practitioner/MSN) required
- OCN/AOCN/AOCNS/or AOCNP certification required
- 8+ years of work experience required
- 2+ years post graduate oncology clinical and/or educational experience required
- Experience with Oncology and/or Hematology products required
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to navigate and discuss complex clinical data
- Excellent collaboration and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking ability
- Ability to build comprehensive account educational plans
- Ability to analyze clinical insights to shape local education strategy
- Strong teamwork focus and ability to compliantly navigate field partner complexities
- Above average computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Expected to work a 40-hour work week, with occasional flexibility for additional hours
- Requires approximately 70% travel, including overnight travel; additional business travel as required
- Travel by air, including overnight and weekends as needed
- Must be able to lift and transport work materials
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be fluent in English and have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must live in the territory or have the ability to relocate to the territory; living near a major airport is preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience with direct-to-patient education initiatives preferred
- Previous industry experience preferred
- Previous experience introducing new specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI
