About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide clinical education for J&J Innovative Medicine Oncology brands, primarily focused on PI-based and disease state education
- Educate non-physician patient care teams, including nurses, nurse navigators, pharmacists, and advanced practice providers
- Support positive patient care team and patient experiences
- Serve as a trusted educational resource for patient care teams and patients
- Support patient care teams treating patients with J&J Innovative Medicine Oncology brands through education and approved resources
- Serve as strategic education leader across academic and community oncology accounts
- Analyze account dynamics and clinical challenges to understand customer educational objectives
- Develop strategic educational plans for defined geographic accounts
- Determine engagement approaches and monitor changing market educational needs and clinical trends
- Collaborate compliantly with internal and external partners to execute education plans
- Educate patients through requests from advocacy groups
- Build external relationships with patient care teams and manage a geographic territory
- Educate patient care teams on disease state awareness, patient identification, product clinical profiles, benefits, and administration requirements
- Deliver 1:1 presentations, round-table discussions, and formal education programs
- Teach infusion nurses and medical staff about infusion processes for new cancer medications
- Translate and communicate clinical education topics to diverse audiences
- Document and share clinical insights from customer engagements and meetings
- Shape local education strategy and develop strategic account education plans
- Attend and provide clinical information or presentations at national, regional, and local meetings
- Provide staff support at exhibit booths and displays as required
- Participate in journal clubs, book clubs, and team clinical discussions
- Develop, implement, and document performance and development plans with the supervisor
- Participate in management-assigned projects
- Complete administrative requirements, including expense reports and activity documentation
- Support sales training initiatives and improve field personnel clinical competencies
- Collaborate across sales, marketing, Health Policy & Advocacy, Medical Science Liaisons, Janssen Care Path, and other functions
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical developments, labeled scientific data, market dynamics, competitive landscape, compliance guidelines, policies, SOPs, and Rules of Engagement
- Document interactions, clinical insights, and customer profile information daily
- Attend clinically relevant meetings for professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- Active RN license or Advanced Practice degree (Nurse Practitioner/MSN) required
- OCN/AOCN/AOCNS/or AOCNP certification required
- 8+ years of work experience required
- 2+ years post graduate oncology clinical and/or educational experience required
- Experience with Oncology and/or Hematology products required
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to navigate and discuss complex clinical data
- Excellent collaboration and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking
- Ability to build comprehensive account educational plans
- Ability to analyze clinical insights to shape local education strategy
- Strong teamwork focus and ability to compliantly navigate field partner complexities
- Above average computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Expected to work a 40-hour work week, with flexibility to work additional hours when needed
- Approximately 70% travel, including overnight travel; additional business travel as required
- Travel by air, including overnight and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift and transport work materials
- Valid driver’s license
- Fluency in English with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must live in the territory or be able to relocate to the territory
- Knowledge and/or experience with direct to patient education initiatives preferred
- Previous industry experience preferred
- Previous experience introducing specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications a plus
- Commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI, preferred
