About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategy, evolution, and execution of the new sales representative onboarding process
- Provide structured learning from pre-boarding through field readiness
- Translate field, business, and performance needs into practical learning and development solutions
- Design and improve blended learning journeys incorporating formal learning, field application, practice, coaching, reinforcement, and assessment
- Partner with Sales Leaders and field managers to define readiness expectations, critical capabilities, and development priorities
- Ensure onboarding reflects customer interactions, selling expectations, territory and account-management responsibilities, product knowledge, business acumen, and industry context
- Build manager engagement through touchpoints, coaching expectations, tools, and resources
- Apply adult-learning principles and capability-development practices
- Guide field trainers, facilitators, peer coaches, subject-matter experts, and external partners
- Evaluate effectiveness using feedback, assessments, field observations, and business indicators
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and manage priorities, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
- Facilitate high-impact onboarding and commercial-development experiences
- Stay connected to the field and adapt programs to evolving business and customer needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS required
- Vision Care sales experience preferred, or 5+ years of Sales Training, onboarding, learning and development, or commercial training experience required
- Strong business acumen
- Strong understanding of field selling, customer engagement, territory/account management, and commercial performance expectations
- Ability to facilitate engaging training experiences in virtual and in-person environments
- Experience building, refining, or managing training curriculum, learning journeys, facilitator guides, assessments, and training materials is a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to distill complex product, selling, systems, and process information into clear, practical, and engaging learning experiences
- Strong project management skills
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to assess training effectiveness, identify gaps, and strengthen processes
- Comfortable with remote work and willing to travel domestically
- Travel approximately 15–25% as needed for in-person onboarding, field training, and commercial training events
