About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and lead DePuy Synthes’ global corporate communications strategy
  • Advise executive leadership on messaging, stakeholder engagement, and reputational risk
  • Oversee internal communications to drive employee engagement, change adoption, and alignment with company priorities and values
  • Lead external communications, including corporate announcements, media relations, executive communications, and thought leadership
  • Manage crisis and issues communications
  • Collaborate with Legal, HR, Regulatory, Marketing, and business leaders to ensure messaging accuracy and compliance
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing communications team
  • Manage agency partnerships as needed
  • Ensure communications align with Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and leadership expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field (required)
  • Typically requires 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, with significant leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-level communication strategies in a complex, regulated environment
  • Demonstrated success advising senior and executive leadership
  • Strong experience managing internal and external communications, including media relations and change communications
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • English language proficiency required
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 20%, domestic and occasional international
  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries (preferred)
  • Experience supporting corporate transformations, mergers, separations, or large-scale change initiatives (preferred)
  • Global communications experience and cross-cultural collaboration (preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder management and crisis communications expertise (preferred)
  • Familiarity with digital and employee communication platforms (preferred)
  • Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
