About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide finance and accounting support to the US and worldwide DePuy Synthes organization
  • Serve as finance partner to DePuy Synthes Instruments stakeholders
  • Provide financial insights to drive business objectives and inform management about performance and changes affecting financial results
  • Support Instrumentation for US businesses and collaborate with supply and demand planning, business unit, franchise, regional finance, commercial operations, audit and compliance teams
  • Develop analytics and insights for business initiatives, projects, operations, and instrumentation spend decisions
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Manage Business Plan, forecasts, Long Range Financial Plan, actual-versus-budget reporting, and ad hoc analyses
  • Deliver in-scope financial reporting requirements compliantly
  • Lead monthly financial performance reviews and identify risks and opportunities
  • Develop processes and leverage systems and technology for annual instrument-set forecasting and instrument SKU classification
  • Promote consistent processes and tools across businesses
  • Participate in process improvements and value-adding platform initiatives
  • Challenge business requests and decisions, develop alternative solutions, and educate business partners on financial policies
  • Build regional and platform processes and reporting for comprehensive instrument-spend visibility
  • Assist with annual field audits and annual or ad hoc audit and compliance requests
  • Directly supervise interns and/or co-ops assigned to the Instruments finance team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of finance experience is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Presentation skills required
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to independently partner across different levels of management and functional groups in a matrix organization to recommend solutions
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, recommend and implement process improvements, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong financial leadership and ability to provide recommendations for improving financial information for strategic decisions
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
  • Major in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • CPA, MBA, CMA, or other financial certification preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP, JDE, TM1 and/or similar financial systems preferred
