About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Govern external partners assisting with recurring direct and indirect tax compliance processes for all legal entities in APAC.
  • Manage contracting, scope, and fee negotiation.
  • Monitor KPIs and balanced scorecards.
  • Ensure efficient data access and collaboration with finance teams.
  • Ensure timely filing of direct and indirect tax filings, including review of tax computations with external partners.
  • Partner with GS Finance, Business Finance, and other organizations to enable an efficient integrated tax compliance process.
  • Work with Tax Counsel and the Tax Planning Group on local tax aspects of transactions and planning structures, Foreign Subsidies Regulation reporting, and related matters.
  • Work with the Global Transfer Pricing and Disputes Group on transfer pricing documentation, tax audits and litigations, and advance pricing agreements.
  • Work with Global Reporting on Pillar 2 and country-by-country reporting in local jurisdictions.
  • Advise tax leadership on regional tax compliance issues.
  • Provide tax advice and support to stakeholders and business partners on direct and indirect tax matters in the region.
  • Manage the tax budget for regional tax compliance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) is required, preferably in Accounting or Tax.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including corporate and indirect tax experience.
  • Broad-based technical tax knowledge, with expertise preferred in US GAAP tax accounting, tax compliance and tax technology.
  • Strong background in tax and financial process.
  • Strong communication and partnering skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Mandarin Chinese required for local regulatory and business interaction.
