About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for Materials Management technology solutions supporting R&D and product development
  • Partner with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing stakeholders to translate business needs into prioritized product requirements and user stories
  • Lead AI, advanced analytics, and automation initiatives to modernize R&D platforms and improve product development and decision-making
  • Lead backlog prioritization, release planning, and value realization in alignment with enterprise digital and data strategies
  • Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, quality, and data integrity requirements in a regulated medical device environment
  • Guide technology design decisions related to materials, specifications, BOMs, change management, and traceability across the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with IT delivery teams, architects, and vendors on scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions
  • Monitor product performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvements based on user feedback and business outcomes
  • Provide thought leadership and mentor product owners and cross-functional team members within R&D Technology
  • Report into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
  • 8–10 years of experience in IT product management, product ownership, or technology leadership roles supporting complex business domains
  • Strong technical skills in enterprise systems supporting materials management, product data, BOMs, specifications, and change control, such as PLM or ERP platforms
  • Business skills translating R&D and supply chain needs into technology roadmaps, value cases, and prioritized backlogs
  • Experience working within regulated environments, with knowledge of quality systems, validation, and compliance expectations
  • Leadership skills influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills engaging technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
  • English required
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 10–20%, domestically and occasionally internationally
  • Preferred: experience supporting R&D, product development, or engineering functions within medical devices or other highly regulated industries
  • Preferred: familiarity with Agile and product-centric delivery models, including backlog management and incremental delivery
  • Preferred: experience leading or mentoring other product owners or technology professionals
  • Preferred: strong analytical skills using data to measure product performance and drive decisions
  • Preferred: ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed, global environment
  • Product management, Agile, or related certifications preferred but not required
