About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain comprehensive understanding of provincial and municipal healthcare, medical insurance, pricing, and procurement policies related to medical devices
- Monitor policy dynamics and inter-provincial linkage effects, anticipating spillover impacts across regions
- Interpret and assess policy direction and reform trends at provincial and city levels
- Identify business opportunities and access risks and provide recommendations to GAMA leadership and business units
- Represent DPS China to provincial healthcare security, health commission, pricing, and related authorities
- Build and maintain professional, credible, solution-oriented relationships with authorities
- Support constructive policy dialogue using company positions and evidence-based perspectives
- Define market access and pricing strategies for assigned regions and provinces
- Align priorities for local execution with business unit and commercial teams
- Lead regional and provincial strategies involving VBP and consumables tender projects, DRG/DIP initiatives, catalogue inclusion, payment standards, and reimbursement ratios
- Engage with industry associations, academic and professional organizations, and relevant external stakeholders
- Promote external collaboration projects and strengthen regional market access management capabilities
- Serve as regional market access focal point and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Provide policy interpretation, local insights, and execution guidance
- Support alignment between central strategy and local implementation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Preferred background in Public Health, Health Insurance, Management, Biomedical Sciences, Economics, or MBA
- 5–8+ years of experience in Government Affairs, Market Access, or healthcare policy-related roles
- Solid exposure to provincial and municipal healthcare policy environment
- Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
- Proven capability in policy projects, negotiations, and key account–style stakeholder management
- Strong understanding of China’s healthcare and medical insurance system at the local level
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to operate in complex, uncertain, and high-pressure environments
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive learner
- Capable of independent problem-solving with a positive and resilient mindset
- Working-level English communication skills, written and oral
- Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region
