About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead integrated program management and provide programmatic oversight for complex, cross-functional priorities
- Integrate the PSTS digital, data science, AI, and technology portfolio
- Connect priorities and investments to PSTS business and portfolio priorities and intended scientific, business, operational, portfolio, and enterprise outcomes
- Partner with scientific, business, digital, technology, data science, finance, and operational teams to translate strategic priorities into coordinated execution
- Strengthen integrated portfolio visibility and connect interdependent initiatives
- Identify cross-portfolio dependencies and risks
- Facilitate decision-making and support execution and follow-through across organizational boundaries
- Maintain integrated program-management visibility across priorities, plans, dependencies, risks, resources, decisions, governance, and outcomes
- Develop and maintain integrated program and portfolio plans
- Lead integrated planning, milestones, critical dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, governance, and escalation
- Drive alignment and follow-through across initiatives while preserving project teams’ accountability for day-to-day delivery
- Identify resource and capacity constraints, execution barriers, and emerging risks
- Synthesize portfolio information into insights, options, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations for leadership
- Prepare and support leadership governance forums and facilitate timely decisions
- Establish governance, program reviews, decision pathways, and portfolio-level reporting
- Integrate stakeholder engagement, organizational readiness, adoption, and implementation considerations
- Connect program activity to intended outcomes and identify continuous-improvement opportunities
- Apply programmatic leadership to other high-priority SIS and PSTS strategic priorities, operating model changes, portfolio initiatives, and transformation efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, technology, project/program management, operations, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in program management, portfolio management, business operations, digital transformation, strategic execution, R&D operations, or a related field
- Experience providing leadership or oversight across complex, cross-functional initiatives or portfolios within a matrixed organization
- Strong program management capabilities
- Knowledge of integrated planning, dependency management, risk and issue management, governance, and execution oversight
- Ability to influence, facilitate decisions, and establish accountability across stakeholders without direct authority
- Risk identification, issue resolution, decision facilitation, and escalation capabilities
- Ability to synthesize complex scientific, business, operational, or technical information into clear insights, recommendations, and leadership-level communications
- Analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity and changing priorities
- Preferred: Master’s degree, MBA, or other relevant advanced degree
- Preferred: Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences, or R&D environments
- Preferred: Experience with digital transformation, data, AI, automation, or technology-enabled business transformation
- Preferred: Experience across business, scientific, digital, technology, and data science organizations
- Preferred: Portfolio governance, prioritization, strategic planning, organizational change, and business adoption experience
- Preferred: Familiarity with regulated environments, data governance, information security, compliance, or technology controls
- Preferred: Project/program management, Agile, change-management, or comparable certification or training
