About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the U.S. downstream commercialization strategy for the DePuy Synthes Knee platform and ATTUNE Knee System
- Lead and develop a team accountable for downstream strategy and execution across the primary knee portfolio
- Own commercial strategy to accelerate market share growth, drive competitive conversions, deepen surgeon engagement, and strengthen clinical differentiation
- Define surgeon segments and tailored engagement strategies
- Establish pricing and contracting strategy inputs and manage marketing resources and budget for ROI
- Develop differentiated clinical value messaging and partner on clinical evidence strategy
- Lead go-to-market planning, launch strategy, field readiness, and post-launch reviews
- Shape surgeon education and engagement programs, including cadaver labs, technique training, peer forums, fellowships, and visiting surgeon programs
- Build and manage KOL relationships and surgeon advisory boards
- Lead platform presence at AAOS, AAHKS, and other relevant conferences
- Own competitive intelligence and translate market insights into strategic recommendations
- Lead voice-of-customer research and deliver market and performance briefings to senior leadership
- Partner with Sales to provide field tools, training, messaging, competitive resources, and account support
- Lead, coach, and develop marketing managers and associate marketing managers
- Partner with R&D and upstream marketing to incorporate surgeon feedback and commercial requirements into portfolio and pipeline planning
- Collaborate with regional marketing partners on launches, competitive response, and clinical messaging across global markets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, product management, and/or commercial strategy
- Experience with direct people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and team development
- Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive measurable market share growth and competitive conversion
- Strong analytical skills with experience in business performance reporting, market analytics, and financial modeling
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership, cross-functional partners, and surgeon customers
- Ability to translate complex clinical and technical concepts into clear, compelling commercial narratives
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Up to 40% domestic and limited international travel, including overnights and occasional weekends
- Preferred: Experience in Joint Reconstruction marketing or a closely related orthopedic segment
- Preferred: Experience in medical devices and/or MedTech with clinical procedural understanding
- Preferred: Experience with both upstream and downstream marketing disciplines
- Preferred: Track record of successful product launches in a competitive medical device market
- Preferred: Experience building and executing surgeon education and KOL engagement strategies
- Preferred: Experience supporting society meeting engagement and podium strategy (AAOS, AAHKS, or equivalent)
- Preferred: Experience with pricing and contracting strategy in a capital or implant environment
- Preferred: Familiarity with clinical evidence strategy, health economics, and outcomes-based value messaging
- Preferred: Ability to work with cadavers and within an operating room setting
