About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the U.S. downstream commercialization strategy for the DePuy Synthes Knee platform
- Lead a team accountable for downstream strategy and execution across the primary knee portfolio
- Own commercial strategy to accelerate market share growth, drive competitive conversions, deepen surgeon engagement, and strengthen ATTUNE platform differentiation
- Develop positioning, messaging, segmentation, competitive response, and market share growth plans
- Define target surgeon segments and tailored engagement strategies
- Establish pricing and contracting strategy inputs and manage the marketing budget to deliver ROI
- Lead clinical value messaging and evidence strategy with Medical Affairs and Health Economics
- Oversee regulatory and legal review of marketing output
- Lead go-to-market planning and launch readiness for new implant configurations, instruments, techniques, and platform enhancements
- Shape surgeon education and engagement programs, including cadaver labs, technique training, peer-to-peer forums, fellowships, and visiting surgeon programs
- Build and manage KOL relationships and surgeon advisory boards
- Lead presence at major society meetings including AAOS and AAHKS
- Own competitive intelligence and voice-of-customer research for the primary knee implant market
- Deliver market and performance briefings to senior leadership
- Partner with Sales to provide field tools, training, messaging, competitive resources, and conversion support
- Lead, coach, and develop marketing managers and associate marketing managers
- Partner with R&D and upstream marketing to incorporate surgeon feedback and commercial requirements into portfolio and pipeline planning
- Collaborate with regional marketing partners to share launch, competitive response, and clinical messaging best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, product management, and/or commercial strategy
- Experience with direct people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and team development
- Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive measurable market share growth and competitive conversion
- Strong analytical skills with experience in business performance reporting, market analytics, and financial modeling
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate complex clinical and technical concepts into clear, compelling commercial narratives
- Ability to lead multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Up to 40% domestic and limited international travel, including overnights and occasional weekends
- Preferred: experience in Joint Reconstruction marketing or a closely related orthopedic segment
- Preferred: experience in medical devices and/or MedTech with clinical procedural understanding
- Preferred: experience with both upstream and downstream marketing disciplines
- Preferred: track record of successful product launches in a competitive medical device market
- Preferred: experience building and executing surgeon education and KOL engagement strategies
- Preferred: experience supporting society meeting engagement and podium strategy (AAOS, AAHKS, or equivalent)
- Preferred: experience with pricing and contracting strategy in a capital or implant environment
- Preferred: familiarity with clinical evidence strategy, health economics, and outcomes-based value messaging
- Preferred: ability to work with cadavers and within an operating room setting
