About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Source Quality and Purchasing Controls for external manufacturers
  • Drive supplier qualification, quality metrics, risk management, quality agreements, audits and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Champion continuous improvement and digital transformation of Supplier Quality processes, systems and reporting
  • Provide technical quality leadership for nonconformance management, investigations, CAPA, change management, verification and validation, and manufacturing process controls
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and external manufacturers to resolve quality issues and mitigate supply and compliance risks
  • Support product lifecycle activities and business objectives
  • Recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team
  • Establish effective training programs and foster quality, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Lead internal audits, supplier assessments and regulatory inspections
  • Ensure financial, GMP, Health, Safety and Environmental commitments are met

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/Scientific or associated relevant Technical / Engineering discipline is required
  • Minimum of 6 years progressive experience in a regulated industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity
  • Previous work experience with Suppliers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the business impact of compliance issues and risk management
  • Experience in leadership roles involving project management, problem solving and technical projects
  • Skills in negotiating and influencing decision makers, decision making, communication, judgement, tact and leadership
  • Relevant experience in medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Experience in Supply Chain and/or R&D preferred
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and certification preferred
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required
