About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the regional commercial strategy and operating plan for Sports Surgical innovation priorities
  • Coordinate Area Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, distributors, Marketing, Education, Strategic Accounts, Finance, Supply Chain, and other partners around unified execution plans
  • Own launch readiness and execution for new products and strategic programs
  • Lead high-value evaluations and competitive conversions through adoption and portfolio pull-through
  • Set priorities and make business recommendations using market intelligence, customer insights, competitive dynamics, pipeline data, and financial considerations
  • Own portfolio growth plans across soft-tissue implants and disposables, arthroscopic capital equipment, biologics, and related procedural solutions
  • Lead sales education development and implementation with Commercial Education
  • Establish governance and accountability mechanisms, including cadences, dashboards, milestone reviews, decision logs, and action owners
  • Influence and lead across functions, including R&D, Marketing, HCC, Legal, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance
  • Engage customers and key opinion leaders to gather insights, answer product and procedural questions, address objections, and inform strategy
  • Build partnerships with Academic Medical Centers, fellowship programs, professional societies, and future orthopedic leaders
  • Develop and communicate field strategies for professional education and society meetings
  • Provide leadership during critical field challenges and coordinate issue resolution
  • Promote ownership, accountability, compliance, continuous improvement, and higher commercial execution standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required (BA/BS)
  • A valid driver’s license in one of the fifty United States is required
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in medical device, orthopaedics, Sports Surgical sales, marketing, commercial strategy, or a related field is required
  • Sports Surgical experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional commercial initiatives from strategy through execution and measurable business results
  • Ability to own business plans, establish priorities, make sound decisions, manage competing demands, and hold stakeholders accountable without direct authority
  • Experience leading product launches, customer evaluations, competitive conversions, portfolio expansion, or field enablement programs is strongly preferred
  • Strong strategic and financial acumen
  • Ability to synthesize market intelligence, customer insights, pipeline data, and performance metrics into recommendations and action plans
  • Ability to collaborate with senior commercial leaders, field sales teams, Marketing, Strategic Accounts, Finance, R&D, HCC, Legal, Regulatory, external distributors, and key opinion leaders
  • Executive-level written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Leadership presence, sound judgment, change leadership, conflict resolution, and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to identify revenue growth, competitive differentiation, operational improvement, and customer value opportunities
  • Ability to operate autonomously while maintaining governance, stakeholder engagement, and escalation discipline
  • Expertise in Sports Surgical products, clinical and surgical procedures, competitive landscape, and consultative selling methodologies is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, regulatory policies, and procedures
  • Documented successful commercial performance
  • Located within 90 minutes of an airport within the assigned geography
  • Able to travel 50–75% within the United States
