About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage large-scale implementations and complex IT projects supporting the Digital Strategy and Strategic Program Roadmap
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct large-scale projects and strategic program implementations
- Coordinate approved projects with IT leadership, business-function leaders, and vendor partners
- Facilitate program planning across cross-functional business and technology teams and consolidate workstreams into a single timeline
- Manage requirements processes, project scope and goals, project plans, timelines, resources, risks, budgets, stakeholder communications, and change enablement
- Oversee internal, external, and outsourced resources to deliver project objectives on time and within budget
- Manage human and capital/operating project resources and budgets
- Use Johnstone’s project management methodology and tools including Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Jira Software, Service Desk, and Confluence
- Identify and manage project risks, escalations, issues, problems, and progress
- Keep stores, suppliers, internal staff, and other stakeholders informed of project status and issues
- Provide regular status reporting to Project Sponsors, IT Portfolio Management, and the E-PMO
- Facilitate development of measurable project success criteria with leadership
- Lead post-project retrospectives and lessons-learned activities
- Support business-process improvement using Johnstone’s Lean Program approach
- Document, communicate, and enforce project, program, and department processes
- Perform special projects as assigned
- Lead complex implementations and large-scale projects, including multi-year ERP upgrades and implementations
- Guide and coach project team members and support their professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ten or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current or active Agile or PMI certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP) highly recommended
- Strong knowledge and experience of IT project and program management methodologies and lifecycles
- Strong knowledge and experience managing projects involving ERP cloud-based platforms and associated lifecycle
- Understanding of business case development, risk management, schedule management, and negotiation
- Experience briefing executive leadership
- Effective verbal and written communication with business and technical teams
- Understanding of business functions including Accounting, Sales, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and IT
- Experience managing complex projects or strategic programs across the business
- Experience managing at least 2 full-scale ERP upgrades or implementations in a complex environment, including design, testing, and operationalization phases
- Proficiency in program/project management methodologies
- Ability to establish objectives, timelines, deadlines, and action plans
- Problem-solving, organization, conflict management, and ambiguity-handling skills
- Ability to analyze project status data and present consolidated program status views
- Strong business process orientation and process documentation skills
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and manage budgets
- Ability to lead and influence without formal authority
- Experience in change management methodologies is a plus
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and with third-party partners and customers
- Ability to interface with and influence multiple organizational levels
- Ability to guide and coach team members
- Hybrid schedule requiring up to 3 weeks per month onsite in Cranford, NJ
