About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implementation, and further development of the software architecture for the Information Fusion System (IFS)
Hands-on development across the entire stack: backend in Java/Python, frontend in React/TypeScript, data storage, and integration
Design and implementation of APIs and backend services, including their integration into modern frontend applications
Containerization and operation of applications with Docker, as well as integration into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
Working in a Linux-based development environment using Git and Jira
Contributing to the further development of the system architecture
Integrating and leveraging modern AI- and agent-based approaches
Refactoring and continuously improving existing components, with a focus on maintainability, performance, and scalability
Close collaboration within an agile Scrum team and active participation in technical decision-making
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification or vocational training
Several years of experience in full-stack software development
Very good knowledge of Java, as well as experience with frontend technologies (React, TypeScript)
Experience with Python in production or supporting contexts
Proficiency with Docker and CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins)
Experience with Linux-based systems and development environments, as well as Git and collaborative workflows
Understanding of modern software architectures (e.g., microservices and modular systems) and relational databases
Interest in new technologies such as AI and agentic systems
Ability to take on technical responsibility and provide technical support to teams
Enthusiasm for hands-on development and sustainable software quality
Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
