About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop enterprise network architectures, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN technologies
  • Evaluate existing network systems and architectures and identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and standardization
  • Partner with business development teams on project plans and scoping for network-related opportunities
  • Work with internal stakeholders to deliver projects within budget and successfully
  • Coach and mentor team members and develop deployment strategies
  • Complete network infrastructure integration projects
  • Implement and configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related network infrastructure
  • Configure network security policies, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems with system administrators and security teams
  • Develop monitoring metrics to identify bottlenecks, congestion, and latency issues
  • Assist Enterprise Architecture with network performance standards and conduct capacity planning
  • Implement network security best practices, including encryption, VPNs, and network segmentation
  • Support security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests
  • Develop and maintain network incident response and disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinate restoration of network services during outages, disruptions, or security breaches
  • Create and enforce team documentation standards and maintain network configurations, diagrams, and procedures
  • Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to IT staff and stakeholders
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, SLAs, and performance reviews
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers on networking technologies and solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including implementation, administration, and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of experience with Layer 3 networking technologies, including routing, switching, and network architecture
  • 5+ years of experience working with Arista switching technologies in enterprise environments
  • 1+ year of experience with Arista wireless solutions
  • 2+ years of experience supporting or implementing Azure networking and cloud connectivity solutions
  • Prior experience with Fortinet firewalls and security technologies
  • Experience with Meraki wireless networking solutions
  • Exposure to Extreme Networks switching technologies
  • Experience supporting Dell switching environments
  • Previous Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience, with demonstrated success delivering network solutions across multiple client environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP preferred
  • Strong technical expertise in TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, and DNS
  • Proficiency in routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network management tools
  • Excellent architectural and design skills for scalable and resilient network architectures
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, encryption, access controls, and security policies
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on emerging networking technologies and industry trends
