About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, coach, and motivate the collections team to meet individual and departmental recovery goals
- Monitor daily collection activity and performance metrics, and report regularly to management
- Develop and implement strategies that improve collection rates and reduce delinquency
- Handle escalated customer issues and review and approve payment arrangements, write-offs, and settlements
- Partner with Customer Service, Finance, and Compliance to resolve account discrepancies
- Ensure all collection activity adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and internal procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of experience in collections, customer service, or a similar field, including supervisory or team leadership experience
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Strong knowledge of collection laws, compliance standards, and best practices
- Proficiency in Excel and collection management systems
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Candidates must reside in Panama or Guatemala and be legally authorized to work in the country
