About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise and coach Vendor Relationship Managers throughout RFP processes on evaluation frameworks, scoring methodologies, and documentation standards
  • Design and facilitate end-to-end Vendor Lifecycle Training for VRMs, business unit leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Drive timely vendor scorecard completion and facilitate performance review cadences
  • Escalate scorecard non-compliance to senior leadership and ensure outcomes drive vendor management actions
  • Lead vendor accountability initiatives, including performance improvement plans, contract adherence monitoring, and escalation management
  • Advise business unit leaders on vendor oversight responsibilities and governance frameworks
  • Monitor adherence to vendor governance policies, controls, and standard operating procedures
  • Identify deviations, provide coaching and remediation guidance, and escalate systemic non-compliance
  • Produce governance reporting and trend analysis for senior leadership using scorecard data, assessment findings, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and Risk to operationalize controls in the vendor management lifecycle
  • Identify process gaps, propose improvements, and drive behavioral change through training, accountability structures, and executive visibility
  • Travel alongside VRMs for vendor onsite assessments, up to 10%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in vendor management, business controls, or third-party governance within a financial services organization
  • Demonstrated experience in a controls, compliance, or governance-focused role
  • Proven track record of holding business stakeholders accountable to governance standards, scorecards, or performance frameworks
  • Experience facilitating training, workshops, or enablement programs for business unit audiences
  • Strong understanding of vendor management lifecycle concepts
  • Familiarity with OCC, FFIEC, and CFPB regulatory guidance related to third-party governance obligations
  • Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% for vendor onsite assessments
  • Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in Business, Organizational Leadership, or Risk Management
  • Preferred: Professional certifications such as CTPS, CRVPM, or comparable vendor governance credential
  • Preferred: Experience with vendor performance management platforms such as Zip, ProcessUnity, or Archer
  • Preferred: Six Sigma, Lean, or change management certification such as Prosci
  • Preferred: Prior experience in business controls, internal audit, or compliance advisory within financial services
  • Preferred: Experience designing and delivering adult learning or corporate training curricula
