About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build, professionally lead, and manage the Hardware Engineering Lightgoods team
  • Plan resources, assignments, and capacity while taking projects, budgets, and deadlines into account
  • Provide technical support for quotation and project costing
  • Coordinate with adjacent departments
  • Select, manage, and integrate purchased services, external partners, and engineering design offices
  • Further develop the product portfolio
  • Build and expand technical expertise within the team
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical engineering and functional safety standards and regulations
  • Further develop the use of EPLAN and internal project engineering tools
  • In the medium term, potentially assume overall responsibility for the Hardware Engineering department as part of a succession plan due to retirement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed degree or technician qualification in electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in automation, ideally in intralogistics (pallet or tote conveyor technology)
  • Strong knowledge of EPLAN
  • Strong knowledge of electrical drive systems
  • Strong knowledge of bus systems, sensors, and actuators
  • Initial experience in the professional and/or disciplinary management of teams within cross-project structures is desirable but not required
  • Excellent German and English skills
  • Strong understanding of the interaction between technology and people
