About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Research unidentified payments using documentation and system information to determine the appropriate account or transaction
Review and process returned payments accurately and in a timely manner
Research and maintain non-recovery payment and check activity according to established procedures
Investigate payment discrepancies and escalate unresolved issues when appropriate
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payment research and processing
Partner with Accounting and Operations team members to resolve payment-related issues
Cross-train with team members to provide coverage and develop broader Accounting process knowledge
Follow internal controls, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Support additional Accounting projects and responsibilities as assigned
Work alongside experienced team members and receive training on Katch’s processes and systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to research information, identify discrepancies, and follow established procedures
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a team
Ability to appropriately handle financial and other confidential information
Applicants must reside in Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Texas, Wisconsin, or Michigan at the time of hire and throughout employment
Applicants must be legally authorized to work from one of the eligible states
Preferred: Associate degree or college coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Preferred: Previous experience in accounting, accounts receivable, cash applications, payment processing, banking, healthcare operations, or another transaction-focused environment
Preferred: Experience working with financial, payment, or transaction-processing systems
