About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Become fully aware of the site schedule, site activities, and project goals
Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with site team members
Advise on constructability concerns and actively implement and close constructability action items
Participate in resolving design-related issues and ensure construction considerations are incorporated into designs
Foster a team approach and actively support the health, safety, and welfare of project personnel
Lead the project constructability program for all projects in the Khobar office
Drive engineering solutions that promote safe, quality-driven construction execution methods
Run constructability workshops
Maintain project constructability registers through all project phases
Identify project drivers through commissioning, procurement, and engineering
Identify optimum construction sequencing in brownfield environments for tie-in or general construction work
Ensure heavy lift and logistics requirements for brownfield activities are included in the constructability program
Identify solutions that maximize off-site fabrication and reduce site-related hours
Identify brownfield construction solutions that minimize shutdown time to operations
Participate in site surveys, safety inspections, and audits of contractors’ fabrication and erection facilities
Interface with project engineering and procurement teams, contractors, vendor representatives, dimensional control contractors, operations personnel, and transportation contractors
Report to the Project Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

Engineering degree in appropriate engineering subject or equivalent experience
Minimum 15 years’ experience working in a brownfield construction background
Experience in construction planning based on design drawings
Experience reviewing EPC schedules to ensure correct sequence and duration of construction activities
Demonstrated ability to work with Engineering team and review design drawings from a constructability point of view
Ability to provide input to Estimator for Construction Manhours and review construction labor estimates
Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels
Good organizational skills
Intimate knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft computer programs
Familiarity with Saudi Arabia code requirements desirable
Previous construction engineering experience desirable
