About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support business development activities in conjunction with Business Managers
  • Develop services and a market presence supporting the company’s strategy
  • Manage bids, including directing bid work undertaken by technical staff across bid/project teams
  • Manage large and complex projects across the defence domain sector
  • Provide engineering knowledge and leadership across the team
  • Define engineering strategies for live projects and identified opportunities
  • Support early-career engineers
  • Build stakeholder confidence at the highest levels
  • Deliver critical capability and lead effective teams in changing and complex environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience and sector knowledge across defence aerospace or maritime
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills, including engaging with executives
  • Experience with air programmes and environments such as GCAP, Typhoon, or P-8
  • Experience with uncrewed air systems (UAS) and advanced autonomous technologies
  • Experience with submarine programmes such as Dreadnought or SSNA
  • Exposure to ship/air integration or maritime aviation operations
  • Background in high-pressure operational delivery environments
  • Experience working with major UK defence OEMs
  • Experience shaping defence policy, strategy, or capability planning
  • Must undergo pre-employment screening
  • Must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting
