About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, maintain, and control WBS and lead project setup activities for compliant cost charging, billing, and revenue recognition
  • Manage financial execution, program control, government compliance monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting
  • Calculate and maintain baselines and budgets; monitor project funding, schedules, and milestones
  • Calculate estimates to complete and process scope changes
  • Maximize project cash flow; review customer invoices and reconcile unbilled balances
  • Oversee subcontractor expenditures, track costs and fees against budget, analyze cost trends, and prepare monthly accruals
  • Collaborate with Program Management and customers on financial and contractual deliverables
  • Develop presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead corporate budget and forecast activities, documenting assumptions and evaluating opportunities and risks
  • Reconcile weekly, monthly, and cumulative costs and performance data; provide variance, trend, expenditure, and completion analyses
  • Track funding and calculate future costs using labor productivity, material price forecasts, subcontractor costs and fees, wage rates, and risk analysis
  • Perform accounting and analytical tasks, including transaction processing, account reconciliation, cost accruals, and journal entries
  • Develop price and cost estimates using FAR, CAS, and government accounting standards
  • Establish financial controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques to ensure contract and program compliance
  • Lead cross-functional teams and process improvement initiatives; provide mentoring and training
  • Present to internal and external customers and maintain a high level of customer focus

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four years of applicable experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex program management concepts, including budgets, estimates to complete, and project schedules
  • Knowledge of financial accounting as it relates to U.S. GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills and development of PowerPoint slides
  • General knowledge of contract management procedures and government contract processes
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems independently and work well with a team
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability
