About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide secretarial and administrative assistance for the office
- Research technical and clerical matters
- Organize legal documents
- Create new matters using legal software
- Research, initiate, and/or compose responses to inquiries from insureds, claimants, attorneys, and state or regulatory agencies
- Prepare Notices of Appearance, hearings, depositions, records, and charts
- Prepare month-end reports
- Schedule hearings and depositions for attorneys
- Maintain attorney files
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years legal secretarial experience or 1 year of demonstrated success as a Legal Secretary Trainee
- High school diploma required
- Above average problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Independent thinking skills
- Knowledge of office procedures
- Letter/memo composition, grammar, and spelling skills
- Good working knowledge of a PC
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
