About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Gather and analyse requirements with product, customer and support stakeholders
Write functional specifications and acceptance criteria
Assess impacts on existing IBM i applications and propose solutions
Guide developers through design and development in RPG IV (ILE / Free) and SQL
Conduct code reviews and promote modularity, readability and performance
Contribute to development when needed
Participate in SAFe events including PI Planning, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives
Plan and track releases in Jira from analysis through production
Coordinate testing, validation and deployment
Identify risks early and propose action plans
Share knowledge, mentor team members and drive continuous improvement
Identify and test practical AI uses for coding assistance, documentation, legacy code analysis and testing, and help the team adopt them

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong command of RPG IV, ILE and RPG Free
Strong command of SQL on Db2 for i, including embedded SQL, queries and optimisation
Experience with VS Code (Code for IBM i), Git and GitHub
Experience using Jira in an Agile environment
Experience working in an Agile way
Knowledge of SAFe is an asset
Natural leadership and ability to rally the team around shared goals
Analytical mindset and rigorous documentation
Clear written and spoken communication with technical and non-technical audiences
Fluent French required
Existing use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT, with concrete examples
Curiosity and interest in advancing IBM i practices
Academic qualifications are not required; selection is based on experience and potential
