About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide Level 2 operational support for Windows Server environments and resolve incidents within agreed service levels
  • Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022
  • Perform incident, problem, and change management, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes
  • Monitor server health, availability, resource utilization, services, and event logs, taking corrective action as needed
  • Plan and execute operating system patching, security updates, reboot coordination, post-patch validation, and failure remediation
  • Manage file-level backup and restore requests, monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and support recovery validation
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, snapshots, VMware Tools, resource allocation, and migration issues
  • Perform Windows Failover Cluster health checks and troubleshoot cluster nodes, roles, resources, networks, and storage dependencies
  • Troubleshoot operating system, application service, RDP, network connectivity, firewall, disk, performance, and access issues
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for administration, monitoring, health checks, reporting, and remediation automation
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles
  • Coordinate with application, network, database, storage, backup, security, and vendor teams to restore services and complete planned changes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
  • Practical knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, authentication, permissions, and account administration
  • Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes in an ITIL-based support environment
  • Hands-on experience with patch management, vulnerability remediation, maintenance activities, and post-change validation
  • Experience monitoring backups, troubleshooting failed jobs, and performing file and system restores
  • Working knowledge of VMware ESXi and vCenter administration and virtualization troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting Windows Failover Clustering and high-availability environments
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, ports, name resolution, and Windows network troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of storage concepts, including SAN, NAS, LUNs, volumes, disk provisioning, multipathing, and RAID levels
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Windows administration and operational automation
  • Ability to analyze Windows Event Logs, performance data, service failures, and system alerts to identify root causes
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts and participate in on-call support
