About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate the value Keystone brings to customers and ensure those values are delivered and realized
  • Serve as the farmer's trusted business partner and primary resource for current and future technologies via Keystone's Elite AGx and Connect platform
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of assigned customers' initiatives, goals, strategies, business drivers, and buying practices through regular interaction
  • Use AGx, Connect, and other tools to help customers interpret information and make sound recommendations
  • Ask questions to understand customer strategy and adapt offerings to customer goals
  • Develop Customer Account Plans and review them with Sales Lead, Regional Director, and Operational team
  • Identify, evaluate, and respond to key business issues while providing service to assigned accounts
  • Detail, position, and sell Keystone products and services through on-farm calls, telephone calls, text messaging, and other formats
  • Set and achieve sales volumes, profit margins, and other goals for assigned accounts
  • Maintain account and sales call records via Keystone Connect and Strategic Account Profile Sheets
  • Communicate daily with Location Manager and Operations regarding account progress, service, issues, and opportunities
  • Cooperate with decision makers and operational individuals across Grain, Agronomy, Energy, and Swine & Animal Nutrition businesses
  • Provide customer service, act as a primary customer contact, and resolve customer issues and complaints
  • Develop work habits supporting the organization's go-to-market strategy and communicate strategy changes to stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1-3 years of relevant ag sales experience
  • Basic understanding of crop production, including basic agronomics
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain successful business relationships
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well within strict time frames, despite numerous interruptions
  • Ability to learn diverse product portfolios, margin expectations and deliver profitability to company and farmer-owners
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to accurately calculate information
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions
  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to be successful and travel as needed
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and company-specific software; ability to understand and utilize additional technological tools and resources
  • Bachelor's degree in an agricultural-related field is preferred; or a combination of education and/or experience
