About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather and analyze client requirements to define automation solutions suited to the project’s constraints
- Define the functional and software architecture of systems incorporating programmable logic controllers (PLCs), communication networks, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs)
- Program PLCs and develop HMIs and associated tools
- Design and integrate supervisory control solutions for operating and monitoring installations
- Participate in the development, validation, and commissioning phases of equipment, particularly during FAT/SAT testing
- Prepare the documentation required for the design, installation, and validation of systems
- Manage technical communications with clients and suppliers throughout the project
Requirements
What you’ll need- Self-employed / freelance automation engineer
- Experience developing industrial automation solutions
- Proficiency in industrial PLC programming environments, particularly Siemens, Schneider Electric, or Rockwell Automation
- Proficiency in designing and developing control system programs
- Proficiency in HMI development and the integration of supervisory control solutions
- Proficiency in testing, validation, and commissioning phases
- Technical rigor, autonomy, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Strong communication skills when interacting with the various project stakeholders
- Professional English (a plus)
- Knowledge of machine safety (a plus)
- Knowledge of the EtherCAT industrial protocol (a plus)
- Experience developing and optimizing control system programs and associated tools (a plus)
