Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive operational transformation across North American manufacturing sites through tactical and strategic Continuous Improvement projects
  • Use Six Sigma problem-solving methods and LEAN tools to identify gaps, develop improvement plans, and execute solutions
  • Deliver significant impact to manufacturing processes, organizational capability, and high-performance culture
  • Become a subject matter expert in LEAN Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Reliability, and Lean Six Sigma
  • Engage in Enterprise Operating System Power Up pillars and develop and deploy enterprise standards across North American manufacturing sites
  • Lead complex problem-solving efforts and strategic initiatives
  • Work with operations, maintenance, Value Stream, logistics, quality, finance, digital, and Enterprise Supply Chain teams to drive plant performance
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma projects delivering more than $1MM in annual impact
  • Collaborate with plant CI managers on change management, training, implementation, coaching, assessments, operational excellence, LEAN fundamentals, OEE transformation, safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Monitor mill-operation KPIs and develop visual management tools, tiered scorecards, and Leader Standard Work
  • Improve yield, reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance productivity using Six Sigma and LEAN thinking
  • Identify and drive technology improvements with the digital capabilities team
  • Build people and process capability to sustain the Power Up operating system
  • Facilitate workshops and mentor business-unit leaders and Lean Six Sigma candidates
  • Educate employees at all levels on Lean tools, processes, and thinking
  • Drive standardization, simplification, breakthrough thinking, and best-practice sharing across facilities and functions
  • Drive stakeholder management through forums and other methods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge and experience typically associated with a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in supply chain, engineering or related, and 10+ years of related experience
  • Possess or working towards LSS Black Belt certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment/plant experience is preferred
  • Direct or indirect manufacturing/operations, supply chain and/or finance experience
  • Knowledge of organizational structure
  • Significant experience in Engineering, Operations, Lean Manufacturing, and Reliability
  • Familiarity with Lean, CI, OPEX, LSS tools and theory
  • Understanding of the broader business/organization and ability to connect the CI and Capabilities organization to it
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead multi-functional teams
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to motivate, empower, train, and coach a diverse group of team members
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives
  • Experience developing vision and strategy
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Suite is highly desired
  • Experience in multiple mills, product systems and staff experience, and leadership of exempt and non-exempt workforces is highly desired
  • Strong understanding of Adult Learning processes, Lean, CI and LSS thinking, systems and tools is highly desired
  • Experience in change management in large, complex organizations, plus coaching and mentoring at all levels, is highly desired
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work varying scheduled hours, including some shift work, based on 24/7 operations
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%, potentially exceeding that percentage, including possible international travel
