About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop high-performing teams, ensuring the right people are in the right roles
- Recruit, retain, coach, and develop construction and business-development talent
- Establish succession plans and develop the next generation of leaders
- Maintain accountability for safety, financial performance, client satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational results
- Develop and execute a strategic 3-year business plan for the Greater Philadelphia market
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, trade partners, and other industry stakeholders
- Represent the organization within the local market
- Identify and secure new clients and opportunities while strengthening strategic accounts
- Drive business development, client capture, and account plans with the business development team
- Oversee a substantial backlog and improve margins, mitigate risk, and strengthen financial performance
- Serve as senior executive presence on key projects and client relationships
- Monitor competitive intelligence, market conditions, and industry trends
- Promote a strong safety culture with operational and safety leadership
- Foster inclusion, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership on market opportunities, investments, talent, and growth
- Align company strategy with field execution between executive leadership and operational teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Master's degree preferred
- 15–20+ years of progressive construction management and business leadership experience
- Proven experience managing a $250M+ book of business or comparable scale of responsibility
- Demonstrated success leading complex construction operations with responsibility for financial, safety, client, and people performance
- Strong understanding of the Greater Philadelphia construction market and established relationships within the regional industry
- Proven ability to develop business, secure new clients, and build long-term strategic relationships
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams through multiple levels of management
- Strong financial and technical acumen with the ability to understand and influence P&L performance
- Strategic, analytical, and structured approach to decision-making
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Ability to operate effectively with executive leadership while remaining connected to project and operational teams
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountability for results
