About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver sales, profit and margin targets across a portfolio of multi-million-pound customer accounts
  • Own specific accounts, categories and business areas to drive volume, revenue and margin growth
  • Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans
  • Identify business growth opportunities and create commercially compelling plans
  • Review account performance against KPIs and act on risks and opportunities
  • Analyse customer, shopper, category, market and competitor data
  • Translate analysis into insights, recommendations and actions
  • Build and deliver customer and internal presentations
  • Improve promotional effectiveness, pricing, range decisions, distribution and account performance
  • Develop relationships with customer decision-makers and retail buying teams
  • Develop customer growth plans covering revenue, distribution, promotions, visibility, pricing, product listings and implementation
  • Support negotiation and implementation of pricing, promotional and commercial agreements
  • Identify opportunities across traditional retail, e-commerce and emerging digital retail channels
  • Partner with Trade Marketing on activations and promotional plans
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Category, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Technical and Operations
  • Improve forecast accuracy and ensure customer demand is reflected in business plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely account administration
  • Support strategic projects with the Senior National Account Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A BTEC Level 3+ or Degree in a discipline that has developed your ability to analyse information, interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and persuasive way
  • Minimum 18 months’ experience in a commercial FMCG environment, ideally with exposure to wholesale or retail customers
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to build credibility with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Commercial and numerical confidence, with understanding of sales, revenue, profit and margin drivers
  • Confidence communicating complex information through clear, compelling stories and presentations
  • Proven track record of delivering against KPIs and commercial objectives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to create insightful analysis, robust business cases and engaging customer presentations
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment across Sales, Marketing, Category, Supply Chain, Demand Planning and Finance
  • Ownership mindset and ability to identify opportunities and execute effectively
