About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and ship features across Knak's Vue 3 and TypeScript editor, including the canvas, attribute panels, undo/redo, selection, modules and locks, and translations
Evolve and scale the multi-user editing engine using CRDTs, WebSockets, Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects
Harden realtime collaboration against reconnects, stale clients and partial failures
Extend the structured document format and pipeline that produces production-ready email and landing-page HTML
Partner with the AI team to enable agents to edit designs through the same operations and sync model as people
Develop and maintain Laravel (PHP) APIs and persistence with focus on testability, observability and performance
Instrument, monitor and safely roll out changes with feature flags
Debug issues end to end from browser through edge to database
Lead design and code reviews and document architectural decisions
Collaborate with product, design, QA and DevOps
Mentor teammates and share knowledge of the editor

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of software development experience, with significant full-stack work
Experience building complex, stateful, editor-style web applications, such as design tools, page builders, or rich-text or canvas editors
Deep expertise in TypeScript and a modern frontend framework, with Vue 3 preferred
Strong web fundamentals: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, the DOM, browser storage, rendering performance and profiling
Solid backend experience with PHP/Laravel or a comparable framework, plus MySQL
Good grasp of distributed-systems concepts such as consistency, idempotency, ordering and failure handling
Production experience with realtime systems such as WebSockets, presence and reconnection
Expertise in RESTful APIs, TDD and CI/CD using GitHub Actions
Product mindset and judgment in evaluating AI-generated work
Excellent problem-solving skills, strong written communication and a collaborative mindset
