About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide first-class maintenance and support for customers operating automated storage and retrieval systems and storage and picking systems
  • Diagnose electro-mechanical faults and failures
  • Provide preventative maintenance as part of a resident service and support system
  • Provide 24-hour maintenance support or support according to customer schedules
  • Respond efficiently to customer needs under a first-time-right policy
  • Participate in site-related meetings with customers and KNAPP
  • Provide emergency breakdown and maintenance support
  • Build effective working relationships with customers and operational agents
  • Achieve performance standards for output, response speed, repair quality, and workmanship
  • Provide maintenance support for other installed-system issues
  • Maintain quality communication with customers and KNAPP
  • Write clear, legible reports
  • Implement site quality, safety, and statutory procedures
  • Meet regularly with the Maintenance Operations Manager to discuss activities and progress
  • Log spares usage accurately and promptly with the customer and KNAPP spare parts team
  • Maintain tools and equipment in presentable, usable condition
  • Submit accurate weekly timesheets and documentation for supervisor sign-off
  • Train customers’ maintenance teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a relevant industry or service
  • Valid driving license
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Proven track record working independently and on customers sites
  • Mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration, and system testing
  • Ability to work within an assigned timeframe to complete reactive repairs
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical circuit diagrams
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments successfully
  • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read assembly drawings
  • Operation of hand tools and ability to assemble parts onto equipment
  • Ability to follow setup instructions, assembly drawings, and checklists
  • Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Superior communication skills
  • Computer literacy with basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing role requirements
  • Appreciation of cultural diversity
  • Willingness to travel as and where required or requested
  • Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Physical ability may include lifting between 50–100 pounds
  • Professional etiquette required at all times
