About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a cross-functional team of specialists and align disciplines into one team
Hire, coach, and retain talent; build clear ownership across domains
Build a culture of accountability, blameless learning, and calm execution
Own availability, performance, and scalability of cloud and on-prem/hybrid infrastructure
Define and track SLAs/SLOs, uptime, incident response, and change management
Lead major incident management and stakeholder communications
Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and testing
Guide automation and DevOps practices, including IaC and CI/CD
Partner with or lead security functions covering cloud security posture, IAM, vulnerability management, and patching
Drive audit readiness and compliance for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and SOX-ITGC
Own risk registers and translate technical risk into business language
Act as the accountability point for cloud and infrastructure operations with leadership
Manage vendors, managed service providers, licenses, and contracts
Establish scalable operational processes, policies, and documentation
Balance security, cost, speed, and reliability priorities and make trade-offs transparent

Requirements

What you’ll need

5–10 years of experience, including 3+ years managing technical teams
A generalist who connects the dots between security, infra, operations, and cost, and sees how one decision affects the others.
Strong ownership, excellent communication
Good understanding of AWS / Azure / GCP services, architecture, and operating models
DevOps knowledge: understands CI/CD, IaC, and containers well enough to guide and evaluate the team's work
Practical understanding of security (IAM, cloud security posture, vulnerability management, audit frameworks), operations (ITIL/ITSM, incident/change management, monitoring and observability)
