About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with the KnowBe4 Compliance department on cybersecurity compliance issues
- Shadow attorneys on legal and business matters, including counseling business clients
- Assist with anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, export controls, and antitrust matters
- Research developing compliance case law, regulations, and impacts on the company
- Assist in compliance audits and investigations
- Assist in compliance risk assessments
- Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements and internal legal processes
- Further develop playbooks and policies/procedures
- Assist with due diligence for M&A and other strategic transactions
- Research technology and legal industry techniques to improve Legal department systems and processes
- Observe collaborative meetings between Compliance and other departments
- Research subject matters affecting the company and its global affiliates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be enrolled as a 2L student at the time of application in an ABA law school with excellent academic credentials
- Preferred top 25% of class in law school
- An official transcript may be required upon request
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
- Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program
- Juris Doctor field of study
- Research experience using Westlaw or PLI
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides
- Proficient in legal research software platforms
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks
- Ability to develop creative solutions
- Ability to think and act independently
- Ability to deal professionally with external partners and coworkers
- Self-reliant with sound judgment and pragmatism
- Compliance or in-house experience is a plus
