Head of Sales – Marketing

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Sales division, aligning apprenticeship sales, commercial training sales and outreach, Client Development and Marketing
- Build on established apprenticeship programmes while developing demand and pipelines for newer provision and commercial training
- Coach and develop Sales Managers and other direct reports
- Monitor pipeline health, conversion, revenue and forecasting, using insight to guide decisions and address performance barriers
- Integrate marketing and sales through targeting, propositions, campaigns and events
- Respond to employer demand, apprenticeship funding and wider market changes
- Champion consultative sales conversations focused on employer needs, learner suitability and funded versus fee-paying training
- Collaborate with operational colleagues to align growth with delivery capacity, effective handovers and high-quality learning experiences
- Support important client opportunities and long-term partnerships
- Strengthen systems and ways of working that support team success
- Report to the Chief Revenue Officer and work with the wider C-suite
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience leading sales and delivering growth within education and training
- Practical understanding of both apprenticeships and fee-paying commercial training
- Track record of sustained growth
- Understanding of apprenticeships, including funding, eligibility and employer responsibilities
- Experience developing managers and teams
- Experience bringing sales and marketing together to reach target audiences and build lasting client relationships
- Ability to translate strategy into practical action using sales data, market insight and financial judgement
- Experience building demand for new programmes, services or markets
- Experience across Enterprise, SME or Public Sector markets would be useful
- Direct leadership of apprenticeship sales would be useful
- Must satisfy pre-employment checks, including right to work, references and an enhanced DBS check
- Submit a CV highlighting relevant experience across apprenticeships and commercial training
