About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Encourage independence and build confidence through meaningful activities and community access
  • Offer emotional reassurance and structure during difficult times
  • Promote routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected, and included
  • Monitor and record progress, recognising and celebrating small wins
  • Work regular 12-hour shifts, including waking nights, to provide consistent, high-quality care
  • Help individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and challenging behaviour live safely and independently in their own homes
  • Work as part of a dedicated, hands-on team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Existing work authorisation for the UK
  • Full UK (manual) driving licence
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working in care or support (desirable)
  • Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence
  • Confidence working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge
  • Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping
  • Flexibility to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire
  • A team-first attitude and commitment to delivering person-centred care
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
  • Declaration of all criminal convictions, including spent ones
