About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Koniag Technology Solutions and its government customer on a Federal client business and IT modernization project
- Ensure every sprint's deliverables meet USDA quality, security, accessibility, and performance standards
- Use automated and manual testing approaches to validate the ERAS Platform before each release
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for each sprint
- Verify minimum 90% automated test code coverage for delivered code
- Conduct accessibility testing using Accessibility Insights and the DHS Trusted Tester process to meet WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards
- Perform static and dynamic security testing using Snyk, npm audit, and OWASP ZAP
- Validate API response times and page-render performance
- Conduct performance and load testing to support 99.99% system availability during business hours
- Document and report defects, including false positives from security scans
- Support User Acceptance Testing at the six-month MVP milestone
- Validate Section 508 compliance and assist with Accessibility Conformance Reports
- Ensure zero linting errors and warnings per MDN Web Developer Guides
- Maintain testing records and documentation supporting USDA's Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field required, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of software quality assurance and testing experience
- At least 2 years supporting federal government IT projects
- Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts in an agile sprint-based environment
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and achieving high levels of code test coverage
- Experience conducting accessibility testing against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards using Accessibility Insights or equivalent
- Experience performing security testing using OWASP ZAP, Snyk, npm audit, or similar tools
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as Google Lighthouse, JMeter, or equivalent
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Experience with automated and manual software testing in an agile environment
- Proficiency with Accessibility Insights and the DHS Trusted Tester process
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and federal accessibility standards
- Strong documentation and defect tracking skills
- Experience on federal IT projects preferred
- Experience supporting or participating in federal User Acceptance Testing strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the USDA Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan process or similar federal quality oversight frameworks is a plus
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level or Advanced Level strongly preferred
- DHS Trusted Tester Certification highly preferred
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent is a plus
