About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Demonstrate industry and regulatory knowledge through onsite field audits, employee training, and regulatory interaction
  • Minimize client risk to increase profitability
  • Maintain relationships with regional clients, potential clients, dealer group management, and state dealer associations
  • Inherit a customer service base and establish relationships with managers and management teams
  • Complete new-hire orientation training
  • Organize quarterly visit schedules to maximize travel efficiency
  • Assist with and prepare compliance documentation, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Tier II reporting, OSHA 300 logs, EPA ID numbers, tank permitting, and SPCC Plans
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring accident-prevention programs, policies, and procedures
  • Help communicate and implement environmental management compliance systems
  • Provide exceptional customer service and submit 20 referrals or sales leads annually to the area Account Executive
  • Promote productive relationships with dealer group management and state dealer associations
  • Maintain effective internal and external public relations
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Studies, or related disciplines preferred
  • Three years of Environmental Health & Safety experience preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Ability to speak publicly to audiences of up to 300 people
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and client stakeholders
  • Proven background in building and working with collaborative teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and deal professionally with customers and external contacts
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Microsoft Outlook, and phone/tablet applications
  • Ability to travel overnight approximately 1–2 weeks per quarter
  • Active driver’s license and insurance as required by law
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive between client visits, typically 4 days per week
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand for at least 6 hours per day
  • Ability to receive audio signals and perceive sounds at normal speaking levels
  • Ability to recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations
  • Ability to bend, crouch, reach, and push/pull items up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to stay overnight in hotels multiple weeks per quarter and fly domestically
