About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Migrate flagship applications onto Atlas, Kpler's Vue 3 and React component library and shared Tailwind-based design system
Design and scale Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers and microservices for maps, search, user dashboards, and preferences across web and mobile platforms
Modernize monorepo tooling, CI automation, migration pathways, and frontend architectural conventions for approximately 20 feature teams
Integrate AI development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code across the engineering lifecycle
Architect resilient, decoupled systems using hexagonal architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), event-driven patterns, and micro-frontends
Mentor engineers through technical documentation, code reviews, frontend chapter presentations, and biweekly developer sessions
Collaborate with product managers and designers on Kpler's Web Experience team
Evolve the frontend platform behind MarineTraffic and Kpler Terminal

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven track record of architecting, building, and operating production web applications and microservices at scale
Mastery of TypeScript across the stack
Proficiency with Vue 3 and React
Backend services experience using Node.js
Deep experience with REST/GraphQL APIs
Experience with microservices and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns
Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Kafka
Experience using AI development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code
Experience with Mapbox, GraphQL schema federation, Python, or Scala (nice to have)
Experience with monorepos, micro-frontends, hexagonal architecture, or Domain-Driven Design (DDD) (nice to have)
Experience maintaining or contributing to shared component libraries and design systems (nice to have)
