About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a senior member of the Labor and Employment legal team
- Share day-to-day workload with the Global Head of Labor & Employment and broader team
- Develop Labor and Employment practices for a rapidly growing global/worldwide workforce
- Advise on worker classification, employee separations, executive compensation agreements, compensation plans, and wage-and-hour matters
- Advise on trade secret matters and restrictive covenants
- Support employment and labor due diligence for M&A transactions
- Advise on post-closing workforce integration, including harmonizing employment terms, policies, compensation, and benefits programs
- Provide strategic input on global expansion, EOR and direct employment decisions, workforce transitions, global mobility, contingent workforce, and worker classification risks
- Craft policies and procedures and develop and deliver manager and employee training
- Advise on employee and candidate data privacy issues
- Support global workplace investigations and employee relations matters
- Manage outside counsel on pre-litigation, arbitration, local-law matters, and employment disputes
- Build and refine AI-enabled legal workflows and establish practical guardrails
- Monitor and advise on global Labor and Employment trends, including cryptocurrency industry trends
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of legal experience advising in the US and other jurisdictions on Employment, Labor, and Executive Compensation issues
- In-house and law-firm experience with high-growth scaling and mature, large-enterprise environments
- Broad international Labor and Employment background in law and drafting
- Flexibility to work hours overlapping with PX team members and Asia-Pacific colleagues
- Experience with due diligence for acquisitions and post-closing workforce integration
- Experience with compensation plans and data privacy issues affecting employees and candidates
- Active license to practice law in at least one US State, or eligibility to practice as registered in-house counsel
- Hands-on proficiency using generative AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in day-to-day legal work
- Sound judgment on verifying AI outputs and protecting confidentiality, privilege, and personal data
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and opportunity-making attitude
- Interest in the crypto industry (nice to have)
- Experience in fintech, crypto, or other regulated financial services industries (nice to have)
- Experience in Asian and/or Latin American employment markets (nice to have)
