About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and own high-quality React Native features end to end
Translate ambiguous client problems into solution designs, implementations, launches, measurements, and iterations
Partner with Product and Design to shape responsive and trustworthy financial experiences
Work on product discovery, trading, and simplified client journeys
Use APIs and dynamic or real-time data while making decisions on state management, rendering, performance, architecture, and reliability
Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and collaboration to raise the product-engineering bar
Help build Kraken’s new app for Asian markets
Guide the team on regional UX and design expectations, firewall/connectivity restrictions, vendors, and telemetry tooling

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong React Native experience, including shipping meaningful production applications
Sound architectural and implementation decision-making in a modern mobile codebase
Product-building mindset and strong product judgment
End-to-end feature ownership, from problem definition through launch, measurement, and iteration
Experience building responsive, data-rich applications using APIs and dynamic or real-time data
Written and verbal English
Comfortable using AI tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude while retaining engineering judgment and quality responsibility
Proven experience building and shipping consumer mobile apps for Asian markets
Understanding of Asian UX and design conventions, technical limitations, firewall and connectivity restrictions, and launch challenges
Nice to have: fintech, trading, crypto, payments, or financial technology experience
Nice to have: real-time or streaming data and mobile performance/reliability experience
Nice to have: mobile and web experience or startup/small-to-medium technology company experience
Nice to have: Swift or Kotlin experience
Nice to have: Chinese/Mandarin or another Asian language proficiency
