About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement robust services and libraries for payments integration across Kraken products
Write reusable, testable, and highly efficient code
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend Engineering on seamless feature integration and improvements
Work within a large-scale distributed systems architecture
Partner closely with crypto-native engineers
Support payments systems handling the first and last mile of digital and fiat funds entering or leaving Kraken

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in software engineering
Proficiency writing clean, scalable backend code in a systems language, preferably Rust or Node/Typescript
Security-first mindset when designing systems
Ability to autonomously debug issues across OS, network, and application layers
Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies, including RPC protocols, Kafka, and event-driven systems
