About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify new business opportunities aligned with Kye’s core objectives
- Develop assessments and partner with senior leadership to lead and close negotiations
- Source, evaluate, and execute product licensing, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships with international and domestic pharmaceutical companies
- Lead financial modeling, valuation, and complex contract negotiations with rigorous business and legal oversight
- Coordinate internal diligence across regulatory, scientific, legal, finance, and commercial teams
- Oversee post-transaction integration and manage ongoing partner relationships to ensure committed value is delivered
- Track competitor deal activity, market trends, and therapeutic portfolio gaps to inform executive strategy
- Lead comprehensive risk-assessment processes covering intellectual property, regulatory viability, and manufacturing scale-up potential
- Report to the CEO
- Grow the portfolio of licensed and acquired medicines to enhance customer and enterprise value
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 10+ years of progressive business development or corporate development experience within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry
- Bachelor’s degree in a science or business discipline
- Demonstrated success sourcing, negotiating, and closing high-value commercial or clinical-stage licensing and acquisition deals
- Strong financial acumen
- Strategic analytical thinking
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with datasets used to develop market assessments
- Strong technical capability to perform related data queries and associated analytics
- Strong scientific background
- Deep knowledge of Canadian industry trends
- Established international network within the pharmaceutical business development sector
- Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels
- Strong decision-making skills
- Toronto/GTA-based
- Ability to work in a hybrid office/home-based arrangement
