About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, assess, and prioritize modernization roadmaps while considering cost and risk
  • Design software frameworks, systems, products, system interfaces, and business application prototypes
  • Identify and resolve framework design weaknesses
  • Provide technical leadership to the application development team
  • Perform design and code reviews
  • Maintain uniform enterprise-wide application design standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture with business requirements
  • Create and maintain software architecture and application design documentation
  • Document component integration, testing guidelines, and other key architectural elements
  • Identify opportunities to modernize mainframe applications using legacy systems and cloud architecture knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Architectural experience of large customer change and transformation projects
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of hardware and software, including connectivity between platforms
  • The Open Group - Master Certified Architect or equivalent preferred
  • Prior hands-on experience working in a mainframe environment preferred
  • Experience with Modernize On, Integrate With, and Move Off mainframe projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of z/OS, IBM Software Products, and third-party mainframe software preferred
  • Candidates must have authorization to work without requiring employer-sponsored work authorization
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule
