About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic running on the mainframe
Refactor legacy code to enable cloud and mobile applications to interact with mainframe core data
Monitor architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code and maintain or enhance mainframe performance
Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions
Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services
Collaborate and share knowledge with a global community of modernization experts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects
Excellent coding skills and solid development experience with Java, Python, .Net, or similar
Debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience with software development methodologies
Demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Experience with data mapping, XML/JSON, and REST-based web services
Knowledge of microservices architecture
Experience with containers, Docker, and Kubernetes
Knowledge of messaging queues
Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred
Certification in one or more hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, or Google GCP) is preferred; certifications may be obtained with Kyndryl
Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices
