About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and manage IBM z/OS production environments
- Perform console monitoring, system health checks, IPL support, and daily operational activities
- Monitor batch job processing, job scheduling, and workload execution across the z/OS mainframe environment
- Administer and support ZEKE job scheduling, including job setup, dependency management, schedule maintenance, forecasting, and production cycle management
- Perform console operations, monitor system messages, respond to alerts, and execute operational commands
- Identify, analyze, and resolve batch job failures, abends, and scheduling issues
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams on critical production processes
- Perform start-of-day and end-of-day checks and ensure successful completion of batch cycles
- Monitor systems for outstanding messages, batch abends, and operational issues
- Identify process improvement opportunities and raise support tickets
- Assess issue severity, prioritize incidents, and initiate escalations
- Execute automated system startup/shutdown activities and restart production subsystems
- Support change management activities to ensure seamless batch operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 to 5 years of experience in Mainframe Operations with strong production support expertise
- Mandatory 2+ years of hands-on experience in ZEKE and CA7 batch scheduling tools
- Level 2 Batch Support experience, including JCL analysis, troubleshooting, and job recovery
- Experience monitoring and maintaining production operating system resources, devices, and batch processing environments
- Experience performing root cause analysis, incident resolution, escalation management, and recovery procedures for production systems
- Experience executing automated system startup/shutdown activities and restarting CICS, IMS, DB2, and IDMS production subsystems
- Experience monitoring scheduled batch jobs, resolving scheduling conflicts, and supporting change management activities
- Ability to work from Chennai or Bangalore
- Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities for production and batch-related issues
- Ability to assess issue severity, prioritize incidents, and initiate timely escalations
