About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain, modernize, automate, and continuously improve critical infrastructure platforms supporting network operations, observability, identity services, and enterprise infrastructure management
- Analyze problems and technical issues, propose solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems
- Evaluate technical challenges and determine the best path forward
- Analyze business, operational, and technical requirements
- Identify technical, operational, and timeline risks early in project lifecycles
- Design, test, integrate, and automate solutions across multiple platforms
- Support application onboarding, migrations, upgrades, and platform transformations
- Integrate platforms using APIs, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code principles
- Define platform roadmaps and modernization strategies
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency
- Manage platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, vendor support, and decommissioning
- Improve automation capabilities and reduce operational complexity
- Support compliance, audit, vulnerability remediation, and security initiatives
- Work with leadership and partner teams to align technology investments with business objectives
- Contribute to current projects while shaping the future of assigned platforms and services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Background in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, network engineering with automation experience, DevOps engineering, site reliability engineering, or enterprise monitoring and observability
- Experience with Windows administration and Linux administration
- Experience with Ansible / AWX
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations
- Experience with GitHub / GitLab
- Experience with REST APIs and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience supporting vulnerability management, security remediation, penetration testing, audit readiness, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for network provisioning
- In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud hosting architecture; AWS experience is a bonus
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience consuming and developing REST API integrations
- Experience working across teams
- Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
- Strong process improvement experience
- Preferred: production-grade Python automation solutions
- Preferred: Cisco management tools such as Cisco ISE, Catalyst Center, CMX, and Prime
- Preferred: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS
- Preferred: enterprise networking concepts and network management platforms
- Preferred: enterprise platform integrations through REST APIs
- Preferred: cloud-hosted application architectures
- Preferred: vendor-supported applications and appliances
- Preferred: application lifecycle management, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning
- Preferred: platform modernization initiatives
