Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in mainframe performance and capacity planning on IBM z/OS platforms
In-depth knowledge of SMF/RMF data analysis, WLM configuration, and z/OS system performance metrics
Experience with Workload Load Manager (WLM), Parallel Sysplex configurations, multiple LPAR environments, and capacity/performance reporting and modeling
System performance understanding of mainframe components covering ZOS, JES, CICS, DB2 and IMS
Thorough knowledge of performance analysis and tuning for ZOS operating environment, DASD and Tape storage systems
Ability to perform diagnostics and root cause analysis
Strong analytical and documentation skills
Excellent communication and technical skills
Ability to provide 7/24 on-call service to clients
Capacity planning for processors, DASD, and physical processors (CECs)
Knowledge of forecasting for processors, coupling facilities, DASD, Virtual Tape, and Tape
Ability to provide technical guidance for infrastructure solutions
Hands-on experience with RMF, Omegamon, TMON, or BMC tools
Hands-on experience with vendor products such as MXG, CA-MICS, Omegamon, Strobe, or APA
Hands-on experience with TDS and QMF for data extraction and analysis
Experience with CP3000, zPCR, and zTPM is an added advantage
Knowledge of cost modeling and mainframe MLC cost optimization strategies
