About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications and solutions
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, clients, and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide solutions
- Ensure application quality and performance while following ServiceNow best practices, standards, security, and compliance policies
- Implement and maintain ServiceNow Discovery across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Configure and customize credentials, MID Servers, probes, and sensors for infrastructure discovery
- Implement Discovery schedules, data reconciliation, and CMDB data hygiene
- Design, develop, and maintain Service Mapping patterns for custom and out-of-the-box applications
- Implement and configure ServiceNow Event Management, including Event Rules, Alert Management, and Correlation Rules
- Integrate monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, SCOM, Dynatrace, Zabbix, Nagios, AppDynamics, and Splunk using MID Servers or APIs
- Collaborate with CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping teams to ensure data integrity and alert-to-CI mapping
- Build and optimize REST, SOAP, and API integrations with Active Directory, MID Servers, and cloud environments
- Develop custom Discovery patterns, workflows, and business-specific solutions
- Configure ITOM CMDB and Event Management to receive, correlate, and manage monitoring alerts and events
- Use ATF for test automation; design test cases, test plans, and test strategies
- Execute tests, review results, generate test reports, and analyze quality-control outcomes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into automation-focused technical solutions
- Recommend modernization options, identify business opportunities, and cultivate relationships with teams and stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8 to 10 years of experience in ServiceNow ITOM development
- Graduation/Post-Graduation in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of two ServiceNow CIS certifications, such as CIS Discovery, CIS Event Management, CIS Service Mapping, or CIS AIOps
- Experience configuring Discovery for on-premises and cloud environments including AWS and GCP
- Experience configuring authentication mechanisms and customizing out-of-the-box Discovery patterns
- Understanding of out-of-the-box Discovery patterns
- Ability to analyze Discovery-related issues, including MID Server issues
- Proficiency with shell scripting and Unix/Linux commands
- Experience integrating external sources such as Dynatrace and SolarWinds with Event Management
- Experience configuring Event Rules, Alert Rules, Flow Designer, and Incident Management
- Understanding of event correlation and alert grouping
- Experience configuring Service Maps using top-down and dynamic CI approaches
- Knowledge of Service Operating Workspace and Service Dashboard
- Experience configuring Impact Rules in Service Maps
- Understanding of MID Server architecture and ability to troubleshoot Discovery issues
- Experience with ServiceNow testing and quality-control analysis
- Preferred: Certified Implementation Specialist - Field Service Management certification
- Preferred: CIS Discovery, CIS Event Management, CIS Service Mapping, or CIS AIOps certification
- Preferred: CIS-CSM certification
- Preferred: CIS-ITSM certification
